Tim Cone Notches 1st Win Against Former Team

James Yap, leading B-Meg to its 1st win this season

Coach Tim Cone finally got his first "W" after an emotional game between B-Meg and his former Team Alaska Aces. "I take no delight in beating Alaska." Coach Tim said. That's the respect that he is giving to the team that he coached for 22 years.

More than personal, it's what the team needs. Both are off to a losing start in the season with the Llamados bowing to the Petron Blaze Boosters, 69-73, and the Aces beaten by the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 72-83.

Triangle vs Triangle. Who ever can adjust quickly will surely win. This game is like a chess match, knowing what game plan the other team will make. Tim Cone emerges victorious. Obviously the way he counters the Triangle attack of the Alaska Aces. Coach Banal somewhat a step slower to adjust with BMeg's superstars like James Yap and Kerby Raymundo doing their own version of the Triangle. Having their way inside and out with the help of a well balance scoring from the bench. While Alaska truggles to find their range outside who only made 1 out of 15 in the 3-point arc. But they keep within the distance throughout the whole game but cannot provide on the crucial stretch of the game. Noticeably Rookie Marc Baracael who exploded on their first game of the season with Brgy. Ginebra topping the scoring column with 20 points struggles to find his range.

The scores:

B-MEG 81 - Yap J.20, Urbiztondo 12, Raymundo 12, Simon 11, De Vance 10, Reavis 8, Pingris 6, Ferriols 2, Barroca 0, Acuna 0, Maierhofer 0, Yap R. 0.

ALASKA 75 - Thoss 18, Reyes 15, Tenorio 11, Baguio 10, Dela Cruz 9, Baracael 4, Custodio 4, Eman 3, Bugia 1, Cablay 0.

Quarterscores: 9-21, 35-37, 61-56, 81-75
