Images of the Trilogy |
This is my thought of what just happened to the Trilogy that all of us had been waiting for. After the fight, it became a battle of two point of views, Judges vs. People. And the decision will always be final and mattered most in boxing!
Factors to be considered why I think Pacquiao wins this fight:
1. The Challenger (Marquez) should be the aggressor in the fight when it came down the wire.
2. Pacquiao always try to keep the ring alive whenever there's a lull.
3. You cannot win by waiting for your opponent to initiate always.
4. Ring generalship is a big factor in terms of by round scoring.
5. Marquez should win impressively either by lopsided or KO as a challenger. He should not rely on the decisions.
6. Statistically, It shows Manny landed and thrown more punches.
Take a look at the actual scorecard |
What I hate about this fight:
1. They made people expects Marquez to be KOed.
2. We don't expect Manny to be this sluggish.
3. Where is the handspeed of Manny that blinded Cotto, Margarito, Dela Hoya etc.
4. Where is the Power Punches of Manny that Rocks all those Big guys.
5. Not much adjustments being made by Pacquiao's corner to redirect the flow of the fight.
6. Not much actions between the two. Both are clearly cautious. Not Entertaining at all.
7. Finally.... There's no closure between the TWO.
I will leave you with the view of an analyst that I might say will enlighten you a bit. "The Filipino’s aggression that would be the difference on the
scorecards. Whenever there were lulls in the action, Pacquiao would
press forward and that was what the judges favored on this night.
Pacquiao was able to land several blistering left hands of his own, but
appeared more intrigued with trying to potshot Marquez rather than rifle
off substantial combination. With the fight in the balance in the
championship rounds, Marquez appeared to ease off the gas a little bit
and was content with allowing it to go to the judges. Meanwhile,
Pacquiao fought with a vigor that said he was well aware he needed those
final rounds to upend his foe once again. He was right."
