NBA 2012-2013 Season Trade Deadline Summary

Headlining the NBA 2012 Trade Deadline
Nene moved in three-team deal
Wizards get:
• F/C Nene
• F Brian Cook
• Future second-round pick

Clippers get:
• G Nick Young

Nuggets get:
• C JaVale McGee
• F/C Ronny Turiaf

Instant Analysis (March 15): After signing Nene to a new deal shortly after the lockout ended, the Nuggets trade away their starting center, who was in the first year of a five-year, $67 million contract. The loss wipes Nene's 13.4 points and 7.4 boards off the plate and replaces it with the 11.9 points and 8.8 boards from McGee. Young, who is putting up 16.6 points a game, brings a new scoring threat to the Clippers, who are still doing their best to make up for the loss of Chauncey Billups.

Era comes to end with Lakers
Rockets get:
• G Derek Fisher
• 2012 first-round pick (acquired from Dallas in Lamar Odom trade)

Lakers get:
• F/C Jordan Hill

Instant Analysis (March 15): Fisher came to the Lakers with Kobe Bryant back in 1996 and were teammates for five NBA championships. That partnership draws to a close as the Lakers choose to move on after acquiring Ramon Sessions in another deadline deal. At 37 years old, Fisher had become a liability in a league with a wide variety of quick, young guards.

Jackson returns to Spurs
Spurs get:
• F/G Stephen Jackson

Warriors get:
• F Richard Jefferson
• Conditional first-round pick

Instant Analysis (March 15): Jackson, already part of an earlier trade deadline deal between the Bucks and Warriors, reunites with the Spurs after a shortened and rocky stay with the Bucks. A Gregg Popovich favorite from his time with the 2003 NBA champion Spurs, Jackson provides San Antonio with another solid defender and scorer. The Spurs part ways with Jefferson, whose time with the team fell way below expectations. Now he gets a fresh start in Golden State.

Blazers ship Camby to Rockets
Rockets get:
• C Marcus Camby

Blazers get:
• C Hasheem Thabeet
• G Jonny Flynn
• 2012 second-round draft pick

Instant Analysis (March 15): Portland's action at the trade deadline suggests that they are blowing up the team and starting from scratch. According to reports, Camby stressed that if he were to be dealt, his preferred destination was Houston, where he has an offseason home.

Lakers address point guard position
Lakers get:
• G Ramon Sessions
• F Christian Eyenga
• Rights to swap Heat's 2013 first-round draft pick

Cavaliers get:
• F Luke Walton
• F Jason Kapono
• 2012 first-round pick (lottery-protected)

Instant Analysis (March 15): In need of a solid, younger point guard, the Lakers make a move by bringing in Sessions, who is averaging 10.5 points and 5.2 assists on the season. The deal to move Walton also frees up considerable cap space for the Lakers.

Wallace moves on to Nets
Nets get:
• F Gerald Wallace

Blazers get:
• F/C Mehmet Okur
• F Shawne Williams
• Protected first-round pick

Instant Analysis (March 15): Wallace, who is averaging 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds, is an athletic building block the Nets could try to include in their future plans as they make the move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. Okur, who has been relegated to just 17 games this season because of back injuries, is on an expiring contract and would help free up cap space for the Blazers.

Pacers pick up Barbosa
Pacers get:
• G Leandro Barbosa

Raptors get:
• Second-round draft pick

Instant Analysis (March 15): With $14 million in available cap space, the playoff-hungry Pacers get the backcourt scorer that they needed in Barbosa, who should help ease some of the load on backup guards George Hill, who is playing with a sore but healing shoulder, and A.J. Price. Barbosa is averaging 12.2 points on the season.

Grizzlies trade Young to Sixers
Sixers get:
• G Sam Young

Grizzlies get:
• Future considerations
• Rights to Ricky Sanchez

Instant Analysis (March 15): With the move, the Grizzlies completely clean house of their 2009 Draft class, which included Hasheem Thabeet (No. 2 overall) and DeMarre Carroll (No. 27 overall). For the Sixers, the acquisition of Young, who is averaging 3.5 points in 11.4 minutes a game, adds another wing player to Philly's mix that currently includes Andre Iguodala, Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young and Jodie Meeks.

Warriors deal Ellis to Bucks for Bogut, Jackson
Warriors get:
• C Andrew Bogut
• G/F Stephen Jackson

Bucks get:
• G Monta Ellis
• C Kwame Brown
• C Ekpe Udoh

Instant Analysis (March 13): The Warriors solidify their interior defense in the long term with Bogut, who has a fractured left ankle and may not return this season. Ellis provides immediate scoring punch to the Bucks' backcourt and with him playing along side Brandon Jennings, it gives Milwaukee a guard combo similar to the Stephen Curry-Ellis pairing that Golden State enjoyed in recent seasons. The deal also provides the Bucks with future salary cap flexibility this summer after parting with Jackson and his hefty contract. For the Warriors, the biggest overall implication may be in the 2012 Draft -- Golden State's pick goes to Utah if it falls outside of the top seven. With injuries mounting in Oakland and a tough schedule ahead, the Warriors may be able to increase their odds for retaining that pick. (Source: NBA.com)
